Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure compatibility with your Daikin indoor unit model.

  1. Turn off power to the indoor unit at the circuit breaker.
  2. Remove the cover of the indoor unit's control terminal box.
  3. Connect the remote controller cable to the designated terminals (refer to indoor unit wiring diagram).
  4. Route the cable through the wall/conduit to the desired remote controller location.
  5. Mount the remote controller on the wall using the provided screws and template.
  6. Restore power to the indoor unit.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by a qualified technician. Ensure power is completely off before making electrical connections to avoid electric shock.

First-Time Setup

After installation and power restoration, configure basic settings.

  1. Power On: Press the POWER button on the remote. The indoor unit should beep and the remote display will light up.
  2. Set Clock: Press the CLOCK button (if separate) or access the timer menu to set the current time. This is essential for timer functions.
  3. Select Language: If applicable, use the SETTINGS or FUNCTION button to select display language.
  4. Test Operation: Select COOL mode, set a temperature a few degrees below room temperature, and ensure the indoor unit responds.
  5. Test All Modes: Briefly test Heat, Fan, Dry, and Auto modes to confirm full functionality.

CAUTION! Do not set extreme temperatures. Allow the system a few minutes to respond after changing modes.

Controls and Settings

Access all functions via the front panel buttons. Display shows active settings and status.

Basic Controls: POWER, MODE (cycles Cool→Heat→Fan→Dry→Auto), TEMP ▲/▼, FAN SPEED, SWING (flap).

Advanced Settings (accessed via FUNCTION or SETTINGS button): Clock Set, Timer On/Off programming, Temperature unit (°C/°F), Beep sound On/Off, Button lock, Filter reset, System test, Error code display (if a fault occurs).

Indicators: Operation mode icon, Set/Room temperature, Fan speed icon, Swing icon, Timer icon, Filter alert, Defrost indicator (Heat mode), Error code.

Connecting to AC System

This is a wired controller. Connection is made during installation.

  1. Ensure the remote cable is securely connected to the correct terminals (1, 2, 3) on both the indoor unit PCB and the remote controller PCB.
  2. Polarity is important. Match wire colors or labels as per the wiring diagram.
  3. After connection, the remote should communicate with the indoor unit immediately upon power-up.
  4. If multiple indoor units are connected to a single controller (for some systems), address settings may be required via dip switches.

Tip: Use only the specified cable type. Excessive cable length or poor connections can cause communication errors.

Basic Operation

Daily use for comfort control.

  1. Turning On/Off: Press POWER.
  2. Selecting Mode: Press MODE repeatedly until desired mode icon appears.
  3. Setting Temperature: In Cool/Heat/Auto mode, use TEMP ▲/▼ buttons.
  4. Adjusting Fan Speed: Press FAN button to cycle through speeds.
  5. Adjusting Airflow Direction: Press SWING to start/stop vertical louver swing. Press repeatedly to set a fixed angle in some models.
  6. Using Mute/Quiet Function: In some models, holding the FAN button activates a quiet operation mode.
