Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Installation must be performed by a qualified technician.

  1. Select location: Install indoor unit on a sturdy wall, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Outdoor unit should be placed on a stable, level surface with adequate airflow.
  2. Mount indoor unit: Use mounting plate and secure with screws. Ensure level.
  3. Connect refrigerant pipes: Connect copper pipes between indoor and outdoor units. Flare connections properly and check for leaks.
  4. Electrical connections: Connect power cables to indoor and outdoor units according to wiring diagram. Ensure proper grounding.
  5. Drain hose: Connect drain hose to indoor unit and route to appropriate drainage.
  6. Vacuum and charge: Evacuate air and moisture from refrigerant lines, then charge with specified refrigerant type and amount.

WARNING! Only qualified personnel should install. Incorrect installation can cause electric shock, fire, or injury. Ensure power is disconnected during installation.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the unit and configure basic settings.

  1. Power on: Plug in and turn on circuit breaker. Indoor unit will beep and display may light up.
  2. Remote control: Insert batteries (typically 2x AAA). Point remote at indoor unit signal receiver.
  3. Test operation: Press POWER on remote. Select Cool mode and set temperature to 24°C (75°F). Ensure cool air blows after a few minutes.
  4. Set clock: Use remote to set current time for timer functions.
  5. Wi-Fi setup (if applicable): Download Daikin app, follow in-app instructions to connect unit to your home network.

CAUTION! Do not operate if refrigerant leak is suspected. Ensure air filters are installed before use.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

For models with Wi-Fi, connect to control via smartphone.

  1. Download the "Daikin Online Controller" app from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Power on the air conditioner.
  3. On remote, press and hold Wi-Fi button for 3-5 seconds until indoor unit Wi-Fi indicator blinks.
  4. Open app, follow setup wizard to connect unit to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
  5. Once connected, control temperature, mode, timer, and monitor energy usage remotely.

Tip: Ensure smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup. Reset Wi-Fi module by pressing remote Wi-Fi button for 10 seconds if connection fails.

Operation Modes

Supports multiple modes for year-round comfort.

  1. Cool: Lowers room temperature. Set desired temperature and fan speed.
  2. Heat: Raises room temperature. Ensure outdoor temperature is within operating range.
  3. Dry: Reduces humidity while maintaining moderate cooling. Fan speed is often automatic.
  4. Fan: Circulates air without cooling/heating. Choose fan speed only.
  5. Auto: Unit automatically selects Cool or Heat based on room temperature.

Additional Functions: Sleep Mode: Gradually adjusts temperature over 7 hours for energy savings and comfort. Powerful Mode: Runs at maximum capacity for 20 minutes then returns to previous settings. Eco Mode: Optimizes operation for reduced energy use. Self-Clean: Run from remote to dry indoor heat exchanger and reduce mold (takes about 30-40 minutes).

WARNING! Do not use heating mode if outdoor temperature is below specified minimum. Unit may enter defrost cycle periodically during heating—this is normal.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Turn off and disconnect power before any maintenance.

  1. Air Filters: Clean every 2 weeks. Open front panel, remove filters, vacuum or wash with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Dry completely before reinstalling.
  2. Indoor Unit Surface: Wipe with soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or water.
  3. Outdoor Unit: Keep area around unit clear of leaves, dirt, and debris. Clean fins gently with soft brush if dirty.
  4. Drain Pipe: Ensure drain pipe is not clogged. Pour a little water into drain pan periodically to check flow.

CAUTION! Do not use water hotter than 40°C (104°F) on filters. Do not operate without filters. Do not clean indoor unit with excessive water.
