Installation Guidelines

Unpack and inspect all components. Ensure proper location for indoor and outdoor units.

  1. Install outdoor unit: Place on stable, level surface with adequate clearance for airflow.
  2. Install indoor unit: Mount on wall at recommended height (7-8 feet from floor).
  3. Connect refrigerant piping: Use flare connections; ensure no leaks.
  4. Connect electrical wiring: Follow local codes; connect power cable and communication wiring.
  5. Connect drain hose: Route to proper drainage location with downward slope.
  6. Vacuum and charge system: Evacuate air and moisture; charge with refrigerant as specified.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified HVAC technician. Incorrect installation can cause injury, electric shock, or fire.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the system and configure basic settings.

  1. Power on: Turn on circuit breaker; indoor unit will beep and display standby.
  2. Test operation: Use remote to select Cool mode; set temperature to 75°F (24°C).
  3. Set clock: Press CLOCK on remote; adjust time using arrow buttons.
  4. Configure Wi-Fi: For compatible models, follow app instructions to connect to network.
  5. Adjust airflow: Use SWING button to set louver direction.
  6. Set filter reminder: Enable in settings menu to alert when cleaning is needed.

CAUTION! Allow system to stabilize for 10 minutes after first startup. Do not switch modes rapidly.

Specifications

Mode Selection: COOL (snowflake), HEAT (sun), DRY (water drop), FAN (fan icon), AUTO (automatically selects mode). Temperature Setting: 60°F to 86°F (16°C to 30°C). Fan Speed: Auto, Low, Medium, High, Turbo. Timer: Set daily or weekly schedule. Sleep Mode: Gradually adjusts temperature over 7 hours. Filter Reset: Press FILTER after cleaning. Wi-Fi Setup: Hold Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

For models with Wi-Fi capability, connect to home network for remote control via smartphone app.

  1. Download "Daikin Comfort" app from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi on indoor unit: Press and hold Wi-Fi button on remote for 3 seconds until Wi-Fi icon flashes.
  3. Open app and follow setup instructions to connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  4. Name your device (e.g., "Living Room AC") for easy identification.

Tip: Ensure smartphone is connected to same 2.4GHz network during setup. 5GHz networks are not supported.

Operating Modes

Select mode based on desired comfort and conditions.

  1. Cool Mode: For cooling; set desired temperature; fan speed adjusts automatically.
  2. Heat Mode: For heating; may take few minutes to start blowing warm air (defrost cycle may interrupt).
  3. Dry Mode: Reduces humidity while maintaining temperature; fan runs at low speed.
  4. Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling or heating; temperature setting unavailable.
  5. Auto Mode: System automatically selects Cool, Heat, or Fan based on room temperature.
  6. Turbo Mode: Press FAN button repeatedly for maximum cooling/heating power.
  7. Quiet Mode: Reduces fan speed for minimal noise (available in Cool and Heat modes).

WARNING! Do not use heating mode below specified outdoor temperature. System may ice up or malfunction.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Clean air filter every 2 weeks: Remove filter, wash with mild detergent, dry completely, reinstall.
  2. Clean indoor unit surface: Use soft, dry cloth; for stubborn stains, dampen cloth with water.
  3. Clean outdoor unit: Remove debris from fins; ensure adequate clearance (at least 20 inches).
  4. Check drain hose: Ensure not clogged; pour water through drain pan to test flow.
  5. Professional maintenance: Schedule annual inspection by qualified technician.

CAUTION! Always turn off power at circuit breaker before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or water spray directly on unit.
