Installation & Battery Setup

Unpack and inspect the remote control. Ensure it is compatible with your Daikin mini-split indoor unit model.

  1. Open the battery compartment: Slide the cover on the back of the remote.
  2. Insert batteries: Install two AAA batteries (1.5V), observing correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the compartment: Secure the cover until it clicks into place.
  4. Initial test: Point the remote at the indoor unit's signal receiver and press any button. The unit should beep or the remote's LCD should illuminate.

WARNING! Use only specified battery types. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.

First-Time Setup & Pairing

Most Daikin remotes are pre-paired. If the remote does not control the unit, follow pairing procedure.

  1. Ensure the indoor unit is powered on (LED indicator is lit).
  2. Point the remote directly at the unit's signal receiver (usually on the front panel).
  3. Press and hold the "RESET" button on the remote for 5 seconds (or as specified in your unit's manual). The remote's LCD may flash.
  4. Press the "ON/OFF" button. The indoor unit should beep in acknowledgment.
  5. Test basic functions: Adjust temperature and change mode to confirm control.

CAUTION! Keep the remote's signal path clear of obstructions. Pairing distance should be within 5 meters (16 feet).

Basic Operation

Turning On/Off and Selecting Mode.

  1. Point the remote at the indoor unit.
  2. Press ON/OFF to turn the system on. The unit will beep and the remote LCD will light up.
  3. Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle to your desired operation: Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan, or Auto.
  4. Use the TEMP ▲/▼ buttons to set your desired room temperature.
  5. Press the FAN button to select your preferred airflow speed.
  6. Press SWING to start/stop the vertical louvers moving up and down.

Tip: In Auto mode, the unit automatically selects Cool, Heat, or Fan based on room temperature.

Advanced Functions

Utilizing Special Modes for Comfort and Efficiency.

  1. Powerful Mode: Press POWERFUL for rapid cooling/heating. The function usually runs for 20-30 minutes before returning to previous settings.
  2. Econo Mode: Press ECONO to reduce energy consumption. Fan speed may be lowered and temperature adjustment range limited.
  3. Sleep Mode: Press SLEEP. The unit will gradually adjust temperature (usually warmer in Cool, cooler in Heat) and lower fan speed to quiet operation over several hours.
  4. Self-Clean (on compatible models): Press and hold the FAN button for 5+ seconds to activate a drying cycle that helps prevent mold and odor.
  5. 3D Airflow (on compatible models): Use SWING in combination with other buttons (consult manual) to control both vertical and horizontal louvers.

WARNING! Do not point the remote at extreme heat or direct sunlight. Keep the IR transmitter window clean.

Timer Settings

Program the unit to turn on or off automatically.

  1. Ensure the unit is ON or OFF, depending on the timer you wish to set.
  2. Press TIMER ON to set a start time, or TIMER OFF to set a stop time.
  3. Use the TEMP ▲/▼ buttons to adjust the hour. Some models use a separate TIMER SET button.
  4. Press the TIMER button again to confirm the setting. A timer icon will appear on the remote's LCD.
  5. To cancel a timer, press the respective TIMER ON/OFF button until the icon disappears.

Note: Timer settings are typically volatile and will be lost if main power to the indoor unit is interrupted.

Care & Maintenance

Uninstall batteries before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the remote body. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Do not use solvents.

CAUTION! Never immerse the remote in water or other liquids. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity to prevent damage to electronics and LCD screen.
