Installation & Wiring

Turn off power to HVAC system before installation. Mount on interior wall away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources.

  1. Remove old thermostat: Label existing wires according to terminal designations (R, C, Y, G, W, O/B, etc.).
  2. Mount wall plate: Level and secure using provided screws.
  3. Connect wiring: Insert labeled wires into corresponding terminals on Daikin One base. Ensure C (common) wire is connected for continuous power.
  4. Attach thermostat: Align and snap onto wall plate until it clicks into place.
  5. Restore power: Turn HVAC system power back on.

WARNING! Electrical shock hazard. Ensure power is OFF at breaker before handling wires. Incorrect wiring can damage equipment.

Initial Setup & Configuration

Upon first power-up, follow on-screen setup wizard.

  1. Select language: Choose preferred language for interface.
  2. Set date and time: Manual entry or automatic via Wi-Fi.
  3. Configure HVAC equipment: Select system type (Heat Pump, Gas/Electric, etc.) and stages via guided setup.

Connecting to Wi-Fi & App

  3. Tap "Add Device" and follow in-app instructions (scan QR code on thermostat or enter pairing code from Settings > About).

Tip: Ensure thermostat is within range of your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router. 5 GHz networks are not supported.

Operating Modes & Scheduling

Supports Heat, Cool, Auto (automatic changeover), and Off modes.

  1. Manual Control: Tap temperature on home screen to adjust set point.
  2. Schedule: Create a 7-day schedule with up to 4 periods per day (Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep).
  3. Hold: Temporarily override schedule. Choose "Until Next" or "Permanent".
  4. Vacation Mode: Set extended away periods with energy-saving temperatures.
  5. Adaptive Recovery: Learns how long system takes to reach temperature and starts early to meet schedule.
  6. Fan Control: Set to Auto (runs with HVAC) or On (continuous circulation).

WARNING! In Auto mode, ensure a sufficient deadband (e.g., 3°F) between heating and cooling set points to prevent short cycling.

Advanced Features

Geofencing: Automatically sets to Away mode when all users leave home zone, resumes schedule upon return. Configure in App > Settings.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Dashboard: View PM2.5, VOC, and CO2 levels. Can trigger ventilation or air cleaner if connected to compatible equipment.

Dealer Settings: For professional installers (access code required). Configure equipment staging, airflow, refrigerant charge assist, and system tests.
